Serie boxes can be so much more than a typical illustration. A single image/frame can in itself convey something, perhaps fascinate someone by the fact it is a neat illustration ... but with a series of images (frames) conveys a event, a feeling, create drama, joy. If you want you can consider comics like a "frozen movie" where each square represents a frame of film.
